ST. GEORGE A fashion show sponsored by the American Association of University Women St. George Branch will take place as part of a luncheon at The Ledges Fish Rock Grille on March 5. The show is being held to help as many as 80 local eighth-grade girls attend the 16th annual eSMART Camp, which focuses on strengthening interest and skills in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and math.

Clothes and accessories modeled by members and volunteers during the luncheon will be provided by Dillard’s and The Ledges Pro Shop. The program also includes silent and live auctions of items donated from AAUW members, local area businesses, and supporters of the eSMART camp.

Girls from Washington, Kane and Iron counties are eligible for fee waivers to the eSmart camp, which runs five days and four nights. The camp includes a day tour of Zion National Park guided by teachers of botany, geology and the ecosystem. The teaching staff and counselors are all experienced in their fields, many having staffed the camp for years.

The total cost of the camp is $500 per girl and covers meals, rooming in Dixie State University dormitories and the Zion National Park trip. However, parents are only asked to provide a small portion of this expense, $150, and AAUW covers the remainder of the cost. Financial assistance is available to help parents with the $150 fee. Registration, including a request for fee waiver, is available at the AAUW eSmart webpage.

The AAUW luncheon starts at 11:30. Tickets are $35 per person and can be obtained at the AAUW St. George Branch event website. Seating is limited.
