Lunar Party takes up-close look at moon

CEDAR CITY — Join the Southern Utah Space Foundation Saturday at the Three Peaks Recreational Area in Cedar City to catch a great view of the moon through their large telescope.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations help the foundation buy better equipment for the community and are always appreciated.

It’s recommended that you arrive right at 7 p.m., wrap up for warmth and bring a blanket or chair for additional warmth and comfort. A fire will be provided a short distance away from the viewing site, along with marshmallows and a telescope to view other objects in the night sky.

Organizers will stay until everyone leaves. However, in the event of inclement weather, they will be there at start time, but if they are rained or snowed out and no one shows up, they typically wait only one hour from start time to call it quits.
