ST. GEORGE — It is safe to say that local runner Amber Green has been chasing a big dream for a pretty long time; the goal of qualifying for the Olympic Trials Marathon.
In her running career, Green has racked up some pretty impressive finishes including being the first female to break the tape at the St. George Marathon three times — Green won in 2012, 2014 and 2015 — and qualifying for the prestigious Boston Marathon; but despite her accolades, the trials qualifying time eluded her.
On her fifth try, Green finally qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials and on Feb. 13 she will toe the line in Los Angeles with some of the best of the best in American distance running.
In this episode of Take 10 we sit down with Green to dish about her favorite running shoes, what she splurges on after a race, what it felt like to finally snag that qualifying time and how she balances training on an elite level with her family life.
