ST. GEORGE  —  SunRiver Hotel Group announced Monday it has been awarded a franchise license agreement for a new Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton in the popular, year-round vacation destination of St. George.

The 120-room new construction project, owned by SunRiver Commercial Development LC, Salt Lake City-based ISR Hotel Group, and AIH LLC is in the initial design phase.

Groundbreaking is slated for summer 2016 with hotel opening planned for mid-2017.

Darcy Stewart, managing partner of SunRiver Hotel Group, said:

“Given the success of the SunRiver St. George active adult community at Exit 2 off Interstate 15, it was a logical decision to extend our footprint to include a high quality hospitality component at SunRiver.

“We spent several years researching brands and talking with people in the hotel industry and made the decision that a new Hampton Inn & Suites was our first choice.

“We are so pleased and excited that, after all our effort, Hilton Worldwide awarded us this new franchise. We believe a Hampton Inn & Suites is exactly the right fit for our community and for our location.”

Located on Sun River Parkway, the hotel will feature guest rooms with a variety of expansive views of Pine Valley Mountain.

Consistent with the Hampton by Hilton brand, Stewart said, the hotel will feature an approachable design that will fit well within the community. It will offer signature guest rooms, an engaging perfect mix lobby, meeting space and a fitness-minded Jump Start area – all delivered with the unique spirit of “Hamptonality.”

Additionally, the hotel will feature Treats, a food and beverage shop offering snacks, toiletries, local merchandise and drinks.

Three hours from Salt Lake City to Sun River? Come now, this could only be accomplished in a Lamborghini, or Ferrari, and if they could elude the highway patrol, sheriffs officers, and local police departments. No I think not. Don’t start with falsifications even before the ground breaking ceremony.
