ST. GEORGE — Providing Animals With Support is hosting a hike of Grapevine Trail in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. This is the third “Hike for PAWS” event and will start Saturday, 9 a.m., at Nisson Park, located at 251 W. Telegraph St. in Washington City. These hikes raise funds for the PAWS organization.
Four-legged furry family members are encouraged to join, but PAWS does request that all animal companions be on a leash at all times.
Before heading out on the hike, there will be a short registration period at the park, and all hikers will receive detailed directions, a map to the trailhead and a description of the hike.
There will also be a drawing for prizes donated by local businesses.
PAWS requests a $10 donation for adult hikers and a $5 donation for anyone younger than 18 years old. Cash or checks made out to “PAWS” only.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. A sturdy backpack is advisable, and be sure to bring at least two liters of water. The hike is approximately 2 miles round trip and should take less than three hours.
This hike will be led by Tom Garrison, a local hiking enthusiast and PAWS volunteer.
For more information, contact the PAWS office at 435-688-9748 or go to their website.
