ST. GEORGE — A nurse stopped and rendered aid and comfort to two drivers and a passenger after two cars collided Monday evening.
Just before 8:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to an accident reported at the intersection of 200 North and 300 West in St. George after a green Honda CRV traveling north on 300 West ran a stop sign and hit a maroon Toyota Corolla traveling east on 200 North, St. George Police Sgt. Spencer Holmes said.
The impact sent the Toyota spinning until it came to a rest on 300 West facing the wrong direction, while the Honda also spun around and was found inches from the sidewalk on 300 West facing east, Holmes said.
Minutes after the accident, a nurse stopped and rendered assistance to the drivers and passenger, Holmes said. She even helped to assess any injuries and comforted them, he said.
The woman driving the Honda sustained minor injuries and complained of chest pains, possibly from the airbags deploying. She was treated at the scene but declined transport to the hospital, Holmes said.
The driver of the Toyota and her passenger also reported minor injuries and both declined transport to the hospital.
Both vehicles were rendered inoperable after the collision and towed from the intersection. There were no traffic delays due to the wide streets and location of the vehicles after impact, so the area was cleared in less than 30 minutes, Holmes said.
One citation was issued to the woman driving the Honda for failure to stop, Holmes said.
St. George Police Department, St. George Fire Department, and Gold Cross Ambulance responded and tended to the scene.
