Violet Mae Anne Orgill Sherratt

Obituary and Program FrontJune 2, 1953 – December 21, 2015

Violet Mae Anne Orgill Sherratt, 62, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, after a long, courageous battle that included many illnesses. She was born June 2, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Samuel Weston Orgill and Violet Mae Webster Orgill. She married her sweetheart, Charles Grant Sherratt, Sept. 3, 1971, in the St. George, Utah, Temple.

She experienced a rough life in her youth and was rescued by an angel, Della Garfield, when she was 16. Aunt Della taught her how to love and to be part of a family, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Mom graduated from Cedar City High School in 1971. She worked for many years in the food service industry as she supported her husband through college. Mom loved working with Dick Lowe and worked with him in multiple restaurants.

She enjoyed making wedding cakes, birthday cakes, sporting team cakes and cakes of all kinds. Mom loved to read and watch movies, crochet clothes and blankets and booties, quilt and create scrapbooks for her grandchildren. Mom kept a journal daily and also wrote life stories for her children. She loved to celebrate holidays, every holiday.

Mom is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved to attend the temple. She served in many different callings and loved them all the best.

Most of all, mom loved dad. He was and will continue to be her best friend, soulmate and sweetheart. Mom loved to be a mom and Gramz and loved her children and grandchildren. She supported us in everything.

She is survived by her sweetheart, Grant Sherratt; children, Jennifer Sherratt, Kimi and Eric Endter, Heather Sherratt and Chuck and Angie Sherratt; grandchildren, Zac, Cullen, Tomi, Lou, Kiersten, Nate, Shaye, Trevor, Dusty, Hailey, Jeff, Megan and Jamen; siblings Kenny, Dolly and Chris; and best friend, Colleen Dunn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aunt Della, father-in-law Cressel Sherratt and many other family members and friends.
