MESQUITE, Nev. — A head-on collision temporarily closed a busy intersection in Mesquite, Nevada, and landed four people in the hospital Wednesday.
Around 5:20 p.m., the Mesquite Police Department responded to a head-on collision that occurred in the intersection of Hillsdale Drive and North Sandhill Boulevard, MPD Officer Quinn Averett said in a statement issued Thursday.
Though details of the accident are still being investigated, Avrett said a maroon GMC pickup truck was making a left-hand turn through the intersection when it collided with an oncoming red Ford F-150 passing straight though.
“Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection, requiring officers to shut down the northbound lanes of Sandhill Boulevard and the westbound lanes Hillside Drive,” Averett said.
The driver of the GMC, along with the driver and two passengers of the Ford, were each transported to Mesa View Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Medical and fire personnel also responded to the scene.
No citations have been issued in relation to the crash. Investigators are still reviewing evidence connected to the crash, Averett said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
