HURRICANE — A driver on State Street made it through a left turn with his truck, but an oncoming car hit and overturned his trailer Saturday afternoon.
A Ford Expedition pulling a small utility trailer was traveling eastbound on W. State Street, Hurricane Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said, and started to make a left turn onto 3400 W about 1:40 p.m. The truck made it through the intersection, but the trailer that was being pulled was struck by a westbound Toyota minivan driven by an adult female with two juvenile passengers.
The impact damaged the front of the Toyota minivan and overturned the trailer. Buell said traffic was initially stopped westbound, as both lanes were blocked for about 20 minutes.
Officers from the Hurricane Police Department and Hurricane Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, which took about 40 minutes to clear completely. The accident caused no injuries, Buell said, and all occupants were wearing their seat belts.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
