John Morgan Denison

December 14, 1940 – November 18, 2015

It is with a heavy heart that the Denison family announce the death of John Morgan Denison Jr. at the age of 74. After a courageous battle with lung cancer, he died on Nov. 18, 2015, at his home in St. George, Utah.

He was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to John and Virginia Smith Denison. John grew up in the Philadelphia area. Completing high school, he joined the United States Army and served honorably in the Vietnam war.

He graduated from Hiram Scott College in Nebraska with bachelor’s degree. Returning to Philadelphia, John had a successful career as an entrepreneur and business man before retiring.

John enjoyed traveling, fishing, football and spending time with friends and family. John will be fondly remembered as a loving husband and father, patriot and U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Widman Denison; his two children, JD Denison and Jennifer Keen from a previous marriage; his brother, William Denison; and many loving grandchildren.

Funeral services

  • A memorial service will be held honoring John Saturday, Dec. 5, 11 a.m., at the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
