Dixie State Dance Company presents Fall Dance Concert

ST. GEORGE — Join Dixie State University for a night of inspiring and moving performance when the Dixie State Dance Company presents its fall concert. The performance is set for Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m., in the Dolores Dorè Eccles Fine Arts Center Mainstage Theatre on the DSU campus.

The company is comprised of some of the finest dancers who are all full­-time students at Dixie State University. This will be an exciting night filled with dazzling choreography ranging from elegant ballet to energetic African.

Styles included in the dance concert include modern, ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom and hip-hop.

The dance company consists of 26 dancers: Ashley Borget, Haleigh R. Caldwell, Sahalie Cindrich, Ashley Cook, Jordan Cox, Erin Hakoda, Lindy Hays, Maysa Holyoak, Andrew Jimenez, Sam Keatley, Lindsey Larsen, Anna Lloyd, McKensy Madsen, Rachel Maughan, Peyton Ouderkirk, Sydney Radulovic, Sarah Ramaker, Jessica Reber, Shaylie Russel, Matt Setoki, Colton Smith, Alivia Snow, Shellie Stirland, Sukcha Choi­Haun, O’Shann Williams and Mikel Young.

The Dance Company rehearses Monday through Saturday in the Graff Performing Arts Building. These multitalented dancers display artistic brilliance through dance.

Dixie State Dance Company’s artistic director, Li Lei, founded the company in 2001. Lei has been the director of DSU Dance Department since 2000. She is joined by other dance instructors and staff who all have dance degrees and/or reputable credits in dance training, teaching and performing.

The university’s dance faculty and staff include Sara Gallo, Kyudon Kwak, Giacomo Agrello, Katherine Call, Misty Frisbey, Nicole Hadley, Heather Sprouse Madison, Jennifer Wadsworth, Jamie Waters and Megan Young.

The Fall Dance Concert will feature choreography from dance students, faculty and guest choreographers. The Dixie State Dance Company presents two formal dance concerts each year, the Spring Dance Concert and Fall Dance Concert.

The concerts consistently sell out, and tickets are available in advance by visiting the M.K. Cox Performing Arts Center ticket office on the DSU campus, calling 435-­652­-7800 or going online. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and youth and $2 for students with DSU student IDs.
