SPRINGDALE / ZION CANYON — Springdale and Zion National Park have announced upcoming short-term road closures to accommodate a run taking place Saturday and a project evaluation Wednesday.
Saturday
Beginning at about 8:50 a.m., roads in Springdale and Rockville will be closed for the Butch Cassidy 5K and 10K runs, more particularly:
- State Route 9 through Rockville and Springdale — 8:50-9:30 a.m.
- Bridge Road to Smithsonian Butte Road in Rockville — 8:50-11 a.m.
- Grafton Road in Rockville — 8:50-10:30 a.m.
Times are approximate.
Wednesday
The Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel in Zion National Park will be closed for periods not exceeding 30 minutes Wednesday, from 6-8 a.m. Park staff will be conducting a project evaluation during this time. Traffic will revert to normal operations at 8 a.m. with regular traffic control for oversized vehicles.
