PICKERINGTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio church congregation ordered a pizza from Domino’s during a service, then tipped the driver more than $1,000 that had been collected for the offering.
The driver brought the $5.99 pizza to Sycamore Creek Church in Pickerington in suburban Columbus on Oct. 4. The Rev. Steve Markle brought her onstage and asked her the biggest tip she’d ever received. She said about $10.
That’s when Markle told her the teaching at the church had been about generosity so the congregation had taken up an offering for the driver. She broke into tears.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that the congregation was wrapping up a sermon series on “I was Broke. Now I’m Not.” The church draws about 500 to 600 people each week.

That is generous. What a nice unexpected surprise. Hopefully she will pay it forward.
Just another publicity stunt, to try to attract attention and bring in more “sheep” to be “fleeced.”
This is part of a horrible movement in churches trying to convince people that the more they give to the church, the more miracles they’ll see in their lives. I’m all for generosity, and know that I’m blessed for it, but this movement perverts that for the sole purpose of raising money that goes directly to the preachers and their lavish lifestyle. It’s truly sickening. I’m very thankful that all of my clergy (so to speak) are unpaid and volunteers.
Well as unearned income and going public… Knock.! Knock.! It’s the IRS.!
praise JE$US. amen
Tell the church to do it again without publicizing it and see how eager they will be to give away $1000.
