VIRGIN RIVER GORGE – A man has been confirmed dead following a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 15 in the Virgin River Gorge Friday afternoon.
A 63-year-old man riding a motorcycle was involved in an accident around milepost 17 of northbound I-15, south of the Cedar Pocket area, Arizona Department of Public Safety Sgt. John Bottoms said.
The identity of the man has not yet been released, pending notification of his family, but he was from Minnesota, Bottoms said.
No lane blockage or traffic backup has been reported on northbound I-15 as of 2:40 p.m. MST.
Details concerning the cause of the fatal incident are forthcoming, as interviews with witnesses and ADPS troopers are still being conducted, Bottoms said.
