CEDAR CITY – A white GMC Sierra pickup nailed a black Toyota Camry, ripping the entire front bumper away from the small car, after running a red light on the corner of 200 North and 300 West in Cedar City Thursday morning.

The Camry was traveling north through a green light on 300 West, crossing over 200 North, when the Sierra’s driver failed to see the red light, ran it and crashed into the Camry, Cedar City Police Officer Matt Topham said.

Reports of the accident came in to the Cedar Communications Center at 10:36 a.m., and Cedar City Police officers were dispatched to the scene. The Cedar City Fire Department and SUU Public Safety also assisted at the scene.

Gold Cross Ambulance was dispatched to the scene, as well, but nobody involved in the accident was ultimately transported to the hospital.

Both the Sierra and the Camry were damaged beyond drivable condition and had to be towed from the scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Huh, I can totally see how getting rid of unnecessary and onerous traffic laws (because, as we all know John Locke taught that Aristotle said that Plato surmised that one of Socrates’ lesser known ruminations suggested that they just ain’t natural laws) would prevented this accident from happening…because, you know, fast drivers is safe drivers…blarf. XD
