Roberta Gibb Malcolm Boisjoly

Our dear mother and grandmother, Roberta Gibb Malcolm Boisjoly, has gone to join her sweetheart Roger Mark Boisjoly in heaven. Roberta passed away on August 21, 2015, in Nephi, Utah.

Roberta was born on April 10, 1940, in Framingham, Massachussetts. She was the youngest child of James Robertson Malcolm and Mary Ferrier Gray Malcolm. As a young child she moved a lot due to her fathers work and was very shy.

Later in high school she was a cheerleader and went on to become a secretary at Hamilton Standard where she met Roger Boisjoly. They were married on April 21, 1962, and had two daughters Norma and Darlene.

Roberta’s dream job was to be a mother, which she excelled at. You couldn’t ask for a better mother and role model. Roberta loved life! She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. One of the things people remember most about her, is her love of a good time and her wonderful laugh.

Roberta played on a bowling league with her sister and played tennis with a group of friends in the neighborhood. Roberta also liked to create and work with her hands. She created beautiful stitcherys and paintings.

She moved to the Sun River community in St. George, in her later years and made many friends. She loved playing the hand and foot card game, going to the temple every week, lunch dates with friends and shopping. She had a life full of friends and fun things to do.

Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Roger Boisjoly, her parents James and Mary Malcolm, and her sister Norma Tarr. She is survived by her daughters Norma Patterson (Ken) and Darlene Richens (Ken); eight grandchildren Tyler Richens (Kayla), Josh Richens (Sami), Nicole Rhodes (Calen), Grant Patterson, Alisha Church (Ty), Aimee Patterson, Ashley Richens and Brook Richens. She has one great grand daughter Tylee Kay Richens.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 11 a.m., at the Nephi North Stake Center located at 1125 N. 400 East, Nephi.
