Find yourself at the fair: Sights, sounds of ‘Super Fun’ Washington County Fair

WASHINGTON COUNTY – The Washington County Fair continues through Saturday at the Washington County Regional Park in Hurricane, filled with all the great fair fare that county residents have come to look forward to each year.

This year’s fair includes all the favorites – carnival rides, food booths, games, exhibits and entertainment – as well as some super special attractions built around this year’s “Super Fun” superhero theme. Friday and Saturday night favorites feature the Figure 8 Race and Pre-Derby and the Demolition Derby, details below. A complete schedule of events can be found here.

Event details

  • What: Washington County Fair
  • When: Continues through Saturday, Aug. 15 | Schedule of events –  exhibits open at 11 a.m., carnival opens at 4 p.m.
  • Where: Washington County Regional Park, 5500 W. 700 South, Hurricane
  • Directions: From St. George take I-15 northbound to Exit 16 toward Hurricane on state Route 9. Follow SR-9 east for 3 miles to fairgrounds on right, across from Quail Creek Reservoir
  • Cost: Parking: Wednesday-Friday: $3, Saturday: $5 | Fair entrance: Free | Activities, special events and carnival: Cost varies
  • What: Baby contest
  • When: Friday 9 a.m. to noon
  • Where: Washington County Regional Park, food court stage at the fairgrounds
  • Cost: $10
  • What: Half marathon relay and 5K | Note: No day-of race registration
  • When: Saturday, Aug. 15, 6 a.m.
  • Where: Hurricane Community Center, 63 S. 100 West, Hurricane
  • What: General parade
  • When: Saturday, 9 a.m.
  • Where: Tabernacle Street,  300 West to 400 East, St. George
  • What: Junior Rodeo
  • When: Saturday, 9 a.m.
  • Where: Washington County Regional Park, covered arena at the fairgrounds
  • What: Figure 8 Race and Pre-Derby
  • When: Friday, Aug. 14 | Gates open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. | Large outdoor arena
  • General admission: $5 per person, $3 for children 5 and under | Buy tickets online or at the fair ticket booth or at the event gate
  • What: Washington County Fair Demolition Derby
  • Saturday, August 15 | Gates open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. | Large outdoor arena
  • General admission:  $10 per person, $3 for children 5 and under | Buy tickets online or at the fair or at the fair ticket booth or at the event gate (Note: this event usually sells out)
