Rulon “Pudd” Taylor Jessop, 40, passed away from an ATV accident on Sunday, June 21, 2015, in Kane County, Utah. He was born on November 1, 1974, in Hildale, Utah, to Joseph Smith and Ellen Bradshaw Jessop.

Rulon was born in Hildale and raised and educated in Colorado City, Arizona. At an early age Rulon went to work on his dad’s farm. From there he worked in all aspects of construction; dirt work, cement work, equipment operator, welding and much more.

Rulon married Bonnie Ream in St. George. They were very much in love. They lived in Salt Lake City and Colorado City, Arizona. After six years of marriage they divorced. At this time, Rulon moved to Texas for a few years and then to Apple Valley, Utah; Bozeman, Montana; and most recently Williston, North Dakota.

Rulon was happy and always had a big smile on his face. He was tough and caring. He was also very loving and was truly loved by all. He was a blessing to those who knew him.

He is survived by four children, Eric James, Shauna Brittney, Rulon Taylor Jr., Ellen Bonnie; his mother, Ellen Bradshaw Jessop; mother, Bonnie; and many brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George.
  • A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 24, from 7-9 p.m. and also prior to services Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
  • Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
