SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the State of Utah on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.
Gov. Herbert issued the following statement:
I hope everyone has the opportunity this Memorial Day to recognize the day for its original intent: remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. No matter your plans this holiday weekend, please take time to show your gratitude for all those who have fought for freedom.
The flags will be flown at half-staff on all state facilities from sunrise to noon on Monday.
