ST. GEORGE – Police have confirmed at 7:52 p.m. that Ashley Anderson has been found.
7:40 p.m. A search is underway for a lost child in the Dixie Downs area of St. George Sunday night.
Ashley Anderson, 11 years old, went missing in the area of 1470 North sometime after 5 p.m. *See ed. note.
Ashley reportedly left her grandmother’s home to get some clothes from a residence she’d been playing at, St. George Police Capt. Mike Giles said, and never came back.
At this point, officers are just canvassing the area and checking with friends to try and find Ashley and have called out police resources to help with that effort.
Ashley has never run away or been in any kind of trouble, Giles said, and nothing is suspected at this point.
“We treat things worst case to start with,” Giles said, “so we’re kind of ahead of the curve if there is a bigger issue.”
Anyone who has seen Ashley Sunday evening or has any information about her whereabouts is asked to call the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4301.
Ed. note: Officers are not sure regarding the correct spelling of the missing girl’s name as this report is published.
