Motorists are advised to take extra caution, especially while crossing bridges, overpasses and un-sheltered areas. Vehicles, especially high profile vehicles, can be difficult to control at times in high winds.

Utah Department of Transportation posted an alert at 7 p.m. advising 55 mph wind gusts were being observed along Interstate 15 at Point of the Mountain, and 45 mph and higher crosswind gusts along West Desert Interstate 80.  For impacts on specific routes, visit UDOT’s road weather alerts Web page linked here.

Take caution or trees as winds can uproot them and tear limbs off with a single gust, as evidenced by photos in the gallery below taken at a residence in Santa Clara and at the St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on E. 400 South in St. George.

The National Weather Service issued a “Hard Freeze Warning” Tuesday, effective from midnight to Wednesday morning for Beaver, Iron and Washington counties. Read more here: Hard Freeze Warning issued for Southwest Utah.

I have (had) a secured, 3 foot tall rooster weather vein mounted on my deck. It now looks like George Foreman took a sledge hammer to it. And worse of all, ObamaCare says it doesn’t cover act of God claims.
(note) Memorial services will be announced after the front moves out.

I’m so sorry about your loss. I can bring funeral potatoes and a green jello salad. Let me know if you need anything else.

I didn’t realize that many people owned trampolines! It hurts to see all the fallen trees, though…

Well you can always replant a trampoline
