Luisa (Lisa) Hinze Golisz

Golisz, Luisa(1923 – April 7, 2015)

Our beloved “Mutti” passed away April 7, 2015, three days after her 92nd birthday. Lisa was born in Lingen, Germany, in 1923.  She met and married Edward (Pop) Golisz in 1948.  In 1958, the couple immigrated to England, then Canada, and eventually to the United States.

She and Pop worked hard in Los Angeles to establish a comfortable life and were very proud to become U.S. citizens. In 1979, they moved to Provo so that Pop could ski. Lisa became a member of the Timpanogos Needlework Guild and excelled in every form of embroidery and needlework.

From Provo they moved to Park City, which was their favorite place to live. They loved the changing of the seasons and being surrounded by the beautiful mountains. In 2001 they moved to Cedar City, where Lisa enjoyed tending her beautiful flower garden and continued to do various forms of needlework while Pop made beautiful wooden boxes and violins.

They moved to Ivins in 2009, where Pop passed away. Lisa missed him every day, and we know she’s happy to be with him once again. It was a joy and a blessing to have her in our home these last few years. She was a remarkable, talented woman. We will miss her sweet smile, her tender heart, and joyful spirit.

She is survived by her daughter Ursula Reikes; and son-in-law John Reikes.

Thank you to the dedicated people at Emeritus at Cliffview and Rocky Mountain Home Care and Hospice for their compassion and dedication toward making her comfortable for the last two months.

Lisa loved animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to Ivins No-Kill Animal Supporters (INKAS), PO Box 242, Santa Clara, Utah 84765.
