ARIZONA STRIP — A man was airlifted by Life Flight to Dixie Regional Medical Center Tuesday night after rolling his vehicle on the Arizona Strip, approximately 9 miles south of where the pavement ends on River Road in St. George.
Just before 6:30 p.m., the St. George Fire Department, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover south of River Road.

Emergency responders from Life Flight were first on the scene, as they landed a half-mile from where the accident occurred after the driver, a man, was able to escape his vehicle and call 911, St. George Fire Capt. Tyler Talbot said.
The extent of the man’s injuries were unknown at the time of this publication, but Talbot said emergency responders proceeded with inserting IVs and attending to other medical needs on scene.
The area where the vehicle crashed was on an unpaved road, which can be hard on most vehicles that are not meant for those conditions, Talbot said.
“It’s known as kind of a bad road,” he said. “Especially in passenger cars, there’s some sharp rocks that can damage tires, and also we advise people not to go down in passenger cars, but people do it because it’s a place to recreate.”
Anyone unfamiliar with the area can have problems on the road if they take the sharp turns too quickly, Talbot said.
The identity of the man involved in the accident has not been released at the time of this publication.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Was speed a factor?
Really? On that road in a passenger car? Is that what it’s saying?
