CEDAR CITY — A man was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center Saturday after his involvement in a one-vehicle rollover on Old Highway 91 in Cedar City.
At about 1:57 p.m., the Cedar City Police Department responded to a rollover involving an SUV. The driver, a man, left the roadway, overcorrected, left the roadway again, rolled his vehicle several times, and was then ejected from the vehicle near milepost 57, Cedar City Police Sgt. Jimmy Roden said. The man was not wearing a seat belt, he said.
The man was transported by Iron County Ambulance to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City. He was later airlifted by Life Flight to Dixie Regional Medical Center, having sustained critical injuries to the head and abdomen as a result of the accident, Roden said.
Factors that contributed to the rollover are still being determined, and the investigation is ongoing at the time of this publication.
