ST. GEORGE — The St. George Police Department is seeking witnesses who may have seen a collision Wednesday morning at the Bluff Street and Main Street intersection involving a red Toyota pickup truck and a blue Mitsubishi SUV.
Just after 7:30 a.m., the driver of the red Toyota was traveling west on Main Street through the Bluff Street intersection towards Black Ridge Drive when the driver of the blue Mitsubishi was making a left-hand turn from Black Ridge Drive onto Bluff Street, St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said, at which point the two vehicles collided head-on.

Both drivers said they had a green light, but no witnesses were present to confirm which account was true, Triplett said.
“If there are any witnesses who witnessed the accident, we ask them that they call St. George Police Department in reference to this accident,” Triplett said.
The man driving the red Toyota had a laceration to his chin and claimed he may have a broken collarbone, but refused medical treatment and transport, Triplett said. No other injuries were reported, he said.
Both vehicles sustained severe front end damage and were towed from the scene. Traffic through the intersection of Bluff Street and Black Ridge Drive was halted during clean up of the collision as well as the closing of the right-hand lane turning from Bluff Street onto Black Ridge Drive, he said.
Gold Cross Ambulance, Utah Department of Transportation and St. George Police Department attended to the scene.
Due to the uncertainty of which driver had the green light, no citations have been issued at this time, Triplett said. Witnesses are encouraged to call St. George Police Department and contact officer Tyrell Bangerter at 435-627-4301 with any information.
