SOUTHERN UTAH – The week’s weather alerts for snow, rain and even slush were finally vindicated in Utah’s Dixie New Year’s Eve with a few hours of light snow, enough to stick on the ground in some places for a time and blanket it in others. St. George News readers shared their photos with reports from across the region – and a few from afar – of what their eyes saw and camera lenses captured during the early hours of the night.

Here is a sampler of 20 photos from those submitted. (Updated New Year’s Day with morning photos added with thanks to St. George News contributor Rachel Gee.)

I love the silouettes of the palm trees under the falling snow. Reminds me of home when it snows in California
