ST. GEORGE—Audiences are in for a groovy trip down memory lane with Jim Witter, as he brings to life the music of Simon and Garfunkel on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. during the Celebrity Concert Series at the Dixie State University Cox Performing Arts Center. Witter has been performing nostalgia shows since 2001.
“This is the music I really love,” Witter said. “Stepping on stage every night and playing these songs is a great honor and privilege.”
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel formed the group “Tom and Jerry” in 1957, and had their first taste of success with the minor hit “Hey, Schoolgirl.” As Simon and Garfunkel, the duo rose to fame in 1965, backed by the hit single “The Sound of Silence.” They are well known for their close vocal harmonies and occasionally unstable relationship. They were among the most popular recording artists of the 1960s; among their biggest hits, in addition to “The Sound of Silence,” were “I Am a Rock,” “Homeward Bound,” “A Hazy Shade of Winter,” “Mrs. Robinson,” “Bridge over Troubled Water,” “The Boxer,” “Cecilia,” and “Scarborough Fair.”
Whether it is his country music, the music of Billy Joel and Elton John, the Beatles, or Simon and Garfunkel’s famous hits, Witter’s versatility as an artist has allowed him the opportunity to reach out and share his music and his infectious personality with audiences of all ages across Canada and the United States. His unique approach and comfortable rapport makes each member of his audience feel as though they are a part of a private concert in the comfort of their own living room. His golden tenor at the grand piano will easily transport you back to the ’60s.

Hopefully the wonderful City of St. George won’t find some BS reason to shut this down.
No reason to bust anyone. Old people are confined to their walkers and wheelchairs. They will just sit and listen. They don’t dance. By 10PM, they will be completely worn out. Actually by 8 PM, they will be worn out.
