ST. GEORGE – The St. George Marathon was about 8 minutes delayed in starting to allow for the final busload of runners to arrive, but start it did predawn in Central with temperatures in the mid-40s and 5-7 mph winds, according to accuweather.com.

First hand cycle to cross the finish line was driven by Jerry Young, time 58 minutes, 10 seconds.
First wheelchair to cross the finish line was driven by Kacey Z. McCallister of Monmouth, Oregon, with a posted time of 1:16:51.79.
Aaron Metler of St. George was the first male runner in with a posted time of 2:19:05.78. Fritz Van DeKamp of Salt Lake City came in second with a posted time of 2:20:26.95, and Jonathan B. Kotter came in third with a posted time of 2:21:02.96.
Announcers at the finish predicted Amber Green of St. George would cross first for women, and she did, with time on the clock showing at 2:43:32, official post pending.
