ST. GEORGE — The Warriors started the game well, with Jake Frei finding Chance Thorkelson for a 23-yard TD strike and a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. But the Bulldogs answered right back with an 82-yard kickoff return for a TD by James Carter to tie the game up.
That return was a sign of bad things to come for SC as the Warriors were outscored 16-0 the rest of the game, including a first-quarter TD pass from Michael Morales to Jaime Valle of 26 yards. Ayala added a third quarter TD on a short run by Jordan Charles and a fourth quarter field goal.
Snow Canyon, playing without injured running back Josh Barnes, struggled mightily on offense, gaining just 99 yards in the game, with a negative total in the rushing column.
SC, 2-3 overall and 0-1 in region play, will host Payson next Friday night.
