Sponsorships, team spots available, annual PAWS Charity Golf Tournament

Coral Canyon Golf Course, St. George

ST. GEORGE — Stephen Wade Auto Centers will host the fourth annual PAWS Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Coral Canyon Golf Course, St. George. Proceeds from the event will benefit P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter of St. George.  Currently there are sponsorship opportunities and a few team spots available.

This tournament is a great way for Stephen Wade Auto Centers to thank our customers and suppliers for their support and to raise money for a great charity that helps the homeless pets in their time of need,” said Adam Wade, president of Stephen Wade Auto Centers of St. George.

Registration will be on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Following the tournament, an awards and recognition lunch will be held.

Providing Animals with Support, P.A.W.S., is an organization based in St. George. The organization was founded in 2002 with 100 percent of donations going to saving the lives of orphaned animals.  The organization’s mission is to end euthanasia in Southern Utah shelters.  Since inception, P.A.W.S. has rescued over 5,000 cats and dogs.

In an effort to reduce the animal overpopulation in Southern Utah, P.A.W.S. offers a public low-cost spay/neuter program.  Since the inception of the spay/neuter program in August 2009, over 3,000 animals have been altered. P.A.W.S. also provides public education on the importance of altering pets. It transports animals to California, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and further.

We do whatever it takes to save an animal’s life,” P.A.W.S. Director of Operations Lynn Burger said. “All of this takes money, and your support of this tournament helps us in continuing our efforts.  I would like to thank Adam Wade, Stephen Wade Auto Group, and the Stephen Wade Foundation for their support, and making our 2014 tournament the best one so far!”

For the past 12 years, P.A.W.S. has given hope and support to thousands of homeless pets, while finding forever families years of companionship and love. Last year, P.A.W.S. worked with city officials to bring about needed changes at the St. George Animal Shelter, which included providing better living conditions, larger exercise area, and healthier environment for animals while at the shelter.

LOL Steve, boy nothing slips past our readers. Actually, we just used the photo they provided on their flyer … so, what to do, duly noted – I’ll caption it as a generic.
