It’s been more than two weeks since Shay Bauman and the Cedar defense has allowed a goal. That includes all three region contests for the Lady Reds, who beat defending state champ Dixie 3-0 Tuesday night at Walt Brooks Stadium.
Holly Carpenter scored her sixth and seventh goals of the season and Makenna Clark found the back of the net for the second time this year for Cedar, which improved to 5-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in region play. Bauman stopped all shot attempts and recorded her fifth shutout of the season and the 10th of her high school career.
Cedar plays at home against Snow Canyon Thursday at 4 p.m., while Dixie, 4-3-0 and 2-1-0, is at Desert Hills Thursday night.
The Lady Warriors went to 5-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in region with a convincing 4-1 win at Hurricane. Jenny Stewart scored a pair of goals for SC, her eighth and ninth of the year.
Hayden Langford scored for the Tigers, who fell to 2-4-1 and 1-2-0. Hurricane hosts Pine View Thursday night.
The Lady Panthers got their first win of region play by blanking Canyon View 1-0. Tayvia Ah Quin scored the lone goal of the game in the second half. Olivia Arslanian got the shutout between the pipes.
Pine View, 2-5-0 and 1-3-0, is at Hurricane Thursday night. The Falcons, 2-6-0 and 0-4-0, have a weather make-up game scheduled at Snow Canyon Friday.
