MOAPA, Nevada — Nevada Highway Patrol and Moapa Tribal Police are in search of a man who escaped on foot after speeding through an Interstate 15 road closure barrier near Moapa, Nevada, Tuesday.
At 9:45 p.m., a ’90s model silver Ford passenger car drove through the I-15 road closure at a high rate of speed, Nevada Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Chelsea Webster said.
The driver, who came from the Moapa Tribal area, continued speeding as he went through the road closure. The Moapa Tribal Police and Nevada Highway Patrol were attempting to track the vehicle down when the driver stopped, exited the vehicle and escaped on foot, Webster said.
“They are only aware of one occupant,” she said. “They had eyes on him at one point behind a barrier wall and he took off, and because it’s so dark out here they weren’t able to find him.”
While the driver has not yet been identified, the abandoned vehicle was towed and registration information was collected, Webster said.
“We can’t verify who the driver was,” she said. “Obviously, we have the registered owner, but we can’t verify if he/she was the driver.”
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

If his faith is stong and he is worthy, he will be able to make his way through the desert back to his bishop’s home in st George and recieve forgiveness for his transgressions against the high way patrol. He will then receive a priesthood blessing
and recieve his exaltations.
More spirit wives for his lapse in judgement!
Yawwwwwwn
Thank you SO MUCH for this article. We have been searching the internet two days for an answer. We were on I-15 5 miles out of Mesquite Tuesday night when the cops stopped all northbound traffic. They stopped traffic for about two hours while searching for this guy. We were all trapped. It was awful. There were mothers with crying kids trying to get to Utah and Colorado, standing on the freeway past midnight waiting for the cops to allow traffic to start flowing. I’m not sure the “crime” this guy committed was worth holding up everyone on I-15 northbound for two hours.
Was it some worthy religious guy from St George who was late for his appointment with a hooker? Time is money!
Wow your really intelligent and you still have to ask questions
At least, he knows the difference between “your” and “you’re.”
