CEDAR CITY — Former Cedar City Police officer, Jed Prisbrey Imlay, appeared in the Cedar City 5th District Court Tuesday for a review of charges filled against him. Imlay is being charged with driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle, a class-A misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, a class-B misdemeanor.
Imlay was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while driving when he crashed into a wall at the Cedar City Little League Baseball Complex, located at 300 East 275 North, on June 2 with a minor in the vehicle. Imlay reportedly fled the scene of the accident.
A request for a 60-day continuance for the case was proposed to Judge Keith C. Barnes by Imlay’s representative Douglas D. Terry, who said both parties needed additional time to reach a resolution. Von J. Christiansen, of the Beaver County Attorney’s Office, who is acting as the prosecution in the case, had no objections to the proposal.
The case was referred to the Beaver County Attorney’s Office to help avoid a potential conflict of interest.
Imlay’s next review hearing is set for Oct. 21 at 9 a.m.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Who cares. Let them move on. How does this make the world a better place? Give us decent worthy news that actually means something. Turning into a gossip rag.
“Who care” lets sed You made a comment so…you care. If you didn’t care you wouldn’t have said anything. This article just shows deals are going to be made for DUI cop. He won’t be held at a higher standard.
Continuances are granted ALL THE TIME. There was no sign in this article whatsoever that this officer will have it easier because of his profession.
I said, he won’t be held to a higher standard ( because he’s a cop) I didn’t say a lower standard (get off easier because he’s a cop)
What about that cop who wrecked a cop vehicle while DUI and his children in the vehicle? Was he charged for that?
This is that cop. And the first paragraph lists what he’s charged with.
