BEAVER– Residents of Beaver County and the surrounding areas looking for a little extra entertainment Saturday may look no further than the final installment of the the 2014 Canyon Breeze Training Center Horse Races.
Saturday marks the fifth and final day of schooling races being organized at Canyon Breeze. Unlike horse races at larger facilities in states like California, Canyon Breeze’s schooling races are not for a large purse; but they do offer a glimpse at a type of training race where horses and jockeys alike can hone their skills in front of a crowd and gain experience.
A total of eight races are set to take place Saturday, including long-standing thoroughbred races at Canyon Breeze, such as the George Marshall and the Beaver Derby, with horses from Utah and other surrounding states. Similar schooling events would require Utahns to take a three -six-hour drive out of state.
The races are set to begin at 2 p.m. at the Canyon Breeze Training Center at 371 Utah 153, Beaver, Utah 84713. Tickets for the event range from $3-$7.
