Police request tips in bungled pharmacy burglary

HURRICANE – Hurricane City police officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary at the Hurricane Family Pharmacy early Monday morning only to discover on arrival that the suspects had fled, leaving damage in their wake.

Officers were dispatched at 3:50 a.m. to the pharmacy on a report of a burglary in progress, police Sgt. Brandon Buell said in a statement released Monday.

“Officers arrived on scene,” Buell said, “and found a door that had been broken into a business adjacent to the pharmacy.”

Officers did not find anyone in the pharmacy but did find evidence that someone had attempted to enter it through the next-door business.

“The suspect(s) were unable to make entry into the Pharmacy and minimal damage was done,” Buell said.

Particulars incidental to the bungled burglary are reserved in light of the ongoing investigation.

Hurricane Police are asking anyone who may have been around the area of the Hurricane Family Pharmacy between the hours of 11 p.m. Sunday and 3:50 a.m. Monday, who may have seen anyone hanging around these business acting suspicious, to contact them either by phone to the department at telephone 435-627-4999, to the police tips line at telephone 435-635-8314, or by email to policetips@cityofhurricane.com.
