Williams, William O Obit(February 1, 1943 – July 24, 2014)

William Stanley Williams passed away July 24, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. Stan was born February 1, 1943, in Texarkana, Texas, to William Lee and Virginia Daniel Williams. He was the oldest of four children.

Stanley played football in high school and after graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed with a mobile radar bomb scoring unit in St. George, Utah, where he met his wife, Susan Thompson. They have just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of five children, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Susan of St. George; children, Lucretia and Joe Suarez of Montgomery, Texas, David, Noma, Terry and Kristen all of St. George; mother, Virginia Williams of Texarkana, Texas; brother, Robert and Vicky Williams of Dallas, Texas, and sister, Donna and Ralph Karnes of Pueblo, Colorado.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Adams and his staff, Dr. Cathleen Obray and her staff, and Dr.’s Leon and Mercado and their staff. We would also like to thank the staff from Applegate Hospice who helped us get through these last two weeks.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 28, at 10 a.m. in the St. George Catholic Church, 259 West 200 North, St. George, Utah.
  • There will be a viewing Sunday, July 27, from 6-7 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff, St. George, Utah.
  • Interment will take place in the St. George City Cemetery.
