IRON COUNTY – A 29-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after being subdued and detained by the people she allegedly attempted to rob.

Siobahn Hall, 29, of Salt Lake County, attempted to rob two men of their credit cards while they were on their way to Yankee Meadows Reservoir, according to a statement from Sgt. Nik Johnson of the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.

Iron County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Yankee Meadows Reservoir around 9:45 a.m. in response to a reported robbery. They were also informed the suspect had been subdued and detained by her would-be victims.

During the investigation into the incident, deputies learned Hall had followed the vehicle occupied by the men from Interstate 15 to the Yankee Meadows recreation area.

“The victims, two adult males from St. George, were driving to Yankee Meadows to go fishing,” Johnson said in the statement. “While on the Yankee Meadows Road, Hall used her vehicle to block the continued travel of the victims’ vehicle.”

Hall reportedly got out of her car and started hitting the other car with a tire iron and demanding money from the men inside.

The men got out of the car and were able to subdue Hall. A passerby drove down the mountain and alerted the Sheriff’s Office about the incident, Johnson said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Hall was arrested and booked into the Iron County Jail for aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, criminal mischief and unlawful detention.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Curious to know how it would have turned out if the suspect had been an aggressive male. Very differently I would think.

Guns, the magic elixir. Could have changed this situation from a dented car to a dead girl.

I know her. She is a very nice person. I don’t know what happened. Drugs, desporation or a psychotic break. Tragic for her and her family.
