Stanley Paul Tucker

TuckerStanleyPaul (April 26, 1939 – July 5, 2014)

Stanley Paul Tucker passed away peacefully Saturday, July 5, 2014 in St. George, Utah with his wife of 52 years, Carla and his daughter, Tiffany by his side.

Paul was born the sixth of seven on April 26, 1939 to Hilden and Roma Tucker in a small farmhouse in Fairview, Utah where he lived and learned the value of hard work and faith in the Lord on the family dairy farm for fourteen years. During that time, Paul earned his Eagle Scout award with Bronze, Silver and Gold Palm Leaves. The family then moved to Bountiful, Utah where Paul began to learn his ultimate skills as a Master Craftsman, building and remodeling homes and producing magnificent cabinetry, all skills which he passed on to his sons. He went on to serve an honorable full time mission in the London, England Mission in 1959 to 1961. When he returned home, he married the love of his life, Carla Mae Bowen for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 18, 1962.

Paul stayed true to his faith and served many callings in the LDS Church throughout his life, including High Priest Group Leader, Elder’s Quorum President and in the field of scouting where he was a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for many years influencing the lives of many young men.

He moved to Southern California with his family in 1988 to find work, then to St. George, Utah in 1992, Washington, Utah in 2001 and in 2013 he and his wife moved to Lehi, Utah to live with his eldest son until moving to Temple View Assisted Living in June of this year.

Our father was a shining example for our entire family and he loved his wife and children unconditionally, no matter the circumstances. He always made everything right and we always knew things would be okay because he was there with a positive attitude, no matter how difficult life would get. He never wavered in his faith in God, or his love for his family to his very last moments on earth. He was the very epitome of what a father and husband should be.

Paul is survived by wife, Carla; seven children: Maria (Eric) Olson, Shaun (Tami) Tucker, Eric (Dorothy) Tucker, Travis Tucker, Kim (Melissa) Tucker, Tiffany (Paul) Horsley, and Tanya (Jesse) Kaiser; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Faulkner, Joyce Hansen, and LaNon Jensen; and brother Owen Tucker.

We would like to give special thanks to the people at Temple View Assisted Living, Zion’s Way Home Hospice, and his daughter-in-law, Tami, who saw to his needs during the last year and a half of his life, while he battled cancer. The time and love she put into his care was immeasurable.
