Janet Judd

(May 17, 1949 – June 12, 2014)

Janet Judd, 65, died peacefully Friday, June 12, 2014 at her home in Kernersville, North Carolina. She was born May 17, 1949 in Los Angeles to James M. Judd and M. Donalda Judd.

Janet was raised in Downey, California and grew up around the world traveling with her family during her teenage years. She attended five high schools on four continents (Africa, Europe, North America, and Australia) and graduated from Kambala, Church of England School for girls in Sydney, Australia.  She attended Oregon State University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After her graduation with a BA in Communications, she started her career in sales and marketing.

She retired in 2008 as an Assistant Vice President in Training and Development for World Savings and Loan in San Antonio, Texas. While living in San Antonio, she reunited with her high school sweetheart, Terry Jenkings.  They retired to travel the world together and Janet adapted her significant corporate training skills to coach managers, sports teams, friends and family to seek their inner strength and live a life of love and peace.   Janet will be remembered for her leadership, courage, her passion for living, and her intense love for family and friends.

She is survived by the love of her life, Terry Jenkings of Sydney, Australia; sister Jacqueline Judd and her husband John Papanek of New York City; sister Joni Judd and her husband Lou Hess of Jupiter, FL; nieces Jamie Ressler, Carrie May, Amy Hess and Lauren Cooper; great niece Gracie; and great nephews Jackson, Heston, Griffin and Chase.

She was preceded in death by her mother M. Donalda Judd, January 2002 and father James M. Judd, January 2003.

Funeral Services

  • Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, St. George, Utah with funeral services to follow at noon.
  • Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Friends and family are invited to offer their condolences at www.spilsburymortuary.com
