Potter was traveling westbound on a red 2009 Kawasaki KL650 motorcycle when the accident occurred, according to a statement released by the Utah Highway Patrol. Potter’s motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

A UHP trooper was dispatched to the scene of the accident around 6 p.m. Sunday. The victim was reported dead at the scene by an EMT who was traveling through the area. Witnesses told UHP that Potter died instantly in the crash.

Potter was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred, according to the statement. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
