ST. GEORGE – A Honda Pilot SUV flipped over onto its side in the middle of 212 N. 2940 E. in St. George Sunday afternoon after the driver was momentarily distracted and hit into a car parked on the side of the road.

“The driver was going down the street, got distracted drinking a bottle of water,” St. George Police Officer Jud Callaway said, “and veered over and hit the parked vehicle and went onto its side.”

The woman driving was alone in her vehicle when she hit the Toyota Corolla parked along the residential street at approximately 6:52 p.m.

Though the streets were filled with people in the aftermath of the ordeal, no one was around to witness what occurred at the time of the collision.

The driver was cited for careless driving, Callaway said.

No injuries were reported but both vehicles were towed from the scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.

I am pretty sure it wasn’t water she was reaching for, I always have water with me and I don’t need to look at it, now if I was looking at my phone to see a text or who called or to make a call……boom

It actually was a water bottle. I can say, from experience, that I’ve been distracted reaching for a drink in my car.

Excuse me, but I’m pretty sure you don’t know the whole story or the driver. I do. Shut up and keep your stupid comments to yourself

you are excused. If I had kids they could have been playing on that street. Is that “stupid” no name calling on STG News unless your bagging on the LDS. I guess it would have been ok if the girl was honest about the fact she hit a ghost hole!

yup! I know its not right to profile…but look at the vehicle occupants. I hope the cops look deeper into this. they would if it was a DUI investigation.

Funny how ppl are so quick to assume and judge, it’s always about drugs and alcohol, interesting, if it were anything of that sort you idiots, do you think perhaps she would have been arrested? Get the facts and story straight. I’m confident in saying that we can blame the Mormons, Obama, and all guns for this.

Bet she drinks before she drives next time…

It was an older woman that was driving that rolled the car. It was my neighbors mother. This happened a few doors down from my house. She said she was putting her drink back into the drink holder and looked up just as she clipped the rear end of the black toyota and it rolled her. It’s amazing what can happen under 20 mph.

Meh. Just push it back over and keep going… oh, wait… it isn’t a Jeep.
