ST GEORGE – A blue Chevy pickup truck gave chase to an unidentified white passenger car Thursday afternoon. The incident being characterized by police as road rage occurred on River Road in St. George.
“The white car continued to drive, which I couldn’t believe, because the blue truck rammed it pretty good. The white car, stole the guy in the blue truck’s wallet,” a witness on scene told St George News. “The blue truck then chased the white car, which was driving down the center of the roadway. The blue truck then rammed the white car as they went through the intersection.”
The chase ended with the unidentified white passenger car being impacted from behind by the blue Chevy pickup truck as it passed through the intersection of River Road and Fort Pierce Drive. After the impact, the blue truck lost control, left the roadway, and ran into a brick wall. The white passenger vehicle maintained control and left the scene.
St. George Police, Gold Cross Ambulance, and St. George Fire Department responded to the scene. The driver of the blue truck was immediately transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Police put out an “attempt to locate” bulletin on the white passenger car.
“This was a road rage incident,” said Officer Dave McDaniel of the St George Police Department. “The driver of the truck was chasing someone else when he impacted into the wall.”
Police were unable to comment further as the investigation is ongoing, with respect to which names of witnesses are being withheld at this time. This report is based on preliminary information provided by those on scene and may not contain the full scope of findings.

No this is not road rage. Road rage is for no reason. This is someone trying to retrieve his property.
Gary’s right. Hollywood action flicks teach us that guns only kill bad guys. Now it’s time to realize that car chases can only result in the capture of criminals and no harm to bystanders!
Yea because the lives of 100 or so uninvolved people is not nearly as important as getting back that $20 bill in his wallet. NOT!! 🙂

Ya, its not road rage. The guy didn’t cut him off or flip him off. He (allegedly) stole his wallet…this was to catch a thief!!!
OK, I get that the guy stole his wallet, which is 100% totally not cool. But chasing him at high speed on a public road, endangering who knows how many uninvolved people, and then using thousands of pounds of steel as a weapon……just plain stupid and completely unreasonable.
And if this clown had killed someone chasing his “stolen wallet”… what then?

So if this guy stole your wallet, would you just wave to him, say have a nice day, and then cheerfully head for home ?? Yea, think about it some more.
Ya he shouldn’t get so made if someone steals from ya, or touch your private area, or slaps your momma, or sells your kids drugs, or maybe he should but instead of endangering others he should pull out obam haha’s magic cloth and rub them until they vanish or it changes them to be a good person. One things for sure the driver of the blue truck won’t be racing Nascar, if it wasnt a women driver in the blue truck, he drives like a women and his friends should call him Danica. Getter done.

So NOW he’s minus his wallet, totaled his truck, caused some poor homeowner a property loss, and was taken to the hospital. Maybe he didn’t know how to dial “911” and give a description of the vehicle w/plate? Or…maybe he was afraid to dial his phone because of the new “no dialing” law!
As much as I hate defending the “hands free” phone law… it does actually allow legal dialing and use for emergency purposes.
Well, bookings shed A LOT of light on what looks like happened. The same officer being quoted in the story charged someone for Reckless Driving and leaving the scene. Looks like he got a ton of other drug charges too. Then some other guy got arrested and charged for aggravated assault and reckless driving.

I think it’s funny this is reported on, but the accident further down river road where the driver literally ran away on foot, leaving his vehicle isn’t. Weird
Is that the driver of the white car in bookings, with the leave the scene of the accident charge?
He is in booking and had a weapon and drugs. My thought is drug deal gone bad.
This whole story has the makings of a great country song. That being said, I hope the guy in the white car gets caught, and gets a good a** kicking.
Technically , I think road rage is classified as events that result from driving issues like being cut off by a reckless lane change , NOT theft .
The report seems to indicate the truck’s driver was attempting to stop the thief ( and maybe his wallet back ) . . .
but I saw NO indications he was irate about a bad lane change or any other “road” issue .
The driver was most likely angry but that doesn’t always make it road rage –

Maybe it’s time to consider installing “Low Jack” on wallets and purses. It would save a considerable amount of wear a tear on pursuit vehicles…..private property damages. !5 minutes could save you a ton of money.

I’m just glad no one got hurt. if I would of called the cops I never would of got my wallet back. but I did. so sorry for causing a big seen never ment to case any harm.
To my acquaintances in St. George: Due to an undeserved (I think) reputation for hot headedness, and to the fact that I own a blue Chevy much like the one featured here, I wish to point out that that wasn’t me. In fact, I wasn’t even there, I live in Alaska now…so hush.
Have a little common sense. How was the wallet ever retrieved throughout this event? Driving carelessly at high speeds on a local road, with regular bikers, joggers, and walkers; not to mention countless drivers on the road (indicating that both drivers had a complete lack of regard for anyone else around). The car was rear ended by the truck at an intersection, and was then said to have maintained control and drove off. Meanwhile, the truck driver lost control, and wrecked off the side of the road. At what point would it have been physically possible for the wallet to be retrieved? How was a witness capable of stating that he or she was there when the wallet was stolen, while also being present to witness the accident. It’s evident that there is no logic in the matter, unless the truck driver had retrieved his wallet before the chase began. Which would also make the high speed chase irrelevant, because the “precious” would have recovered. All hail the “wallet vigilante”!

I agree with the “bad headline”. It wasn’t a stupid driver that set the driver of the truck off. An American citezen was simply protecting his own, doing what any man in their right mind (who was raised & brought up to defend their own) would have done. The right to bear arms for example …had that punk kid came into the drivers home and took his wallet, the driver would have had every right to shoot & kill him. But because it happened outside his home he’s suddenly not expected to protect himself & defend his honor. That kid is lucky that his precious little car was all that got smashed up and not his face like it should have. It’s not only sad but sickening to me as well that my fellow Americans really just expect people to sit back and take this kind of crap. That to me is a disgrace. If anything, the driver of that truck should be getting an award for outstanding bravery and excellence. We could definitely use A LOT more people like this in our community. This man did what very little people dare to do anymore and that is to defend himself when.a crime was committed against him because just like someone above said, “Had he called the police he never would have seen his wallet again”. This man is a true man and this town could use more people like him
