Arizona Strip traffic stop leads to drug arrest

LITTLEFIELD, Ariz. – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joshua Skeet Keyes, 33, of Tooele, early Monday afternoon for felony possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At about 1:16 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 15 at milepost 11 and made contact with Keyes, the driver.

“The vehicle was headed northbound,” Trish Carter, public information specialist for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, said. “The vehicle was following too closely to a vehicle in front of it.”

A records check showed Keyes had a suspended driver’s license.

“The vehicle was subsequently impounded due to the status of Mr. Keyes’ license,” Carter said.

An inventory of the vehicle, prior to impound, revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana residue and a white plastic bundle containing approximately 2.9 grams of mushrooms.

At that time, Keyes was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mesquite Jail in Nevada. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Good job!!! Better arrest them all before they get the Munchies and relax!!! (Sarcasm) Plus it has been proven that Mushrooms aren’t a “dangerous” drug. Yes weed and shrooms are so dangerous that’s why there has never been an overdose on either of the two. Does it seem to anyone else that the charges are more harmful than the drugs themselves are? Maybe we should stick with legal forms of relief that damage the liver and kidneys.
