TOQUERVILLE — A white pickup truck rolled one time ejecting two on Toquerville Falls Road Sunday at 2 p.m.
The pickup truck was driven by one man with with two passengers, a man and a woman, all aged in their 20s. While traveling Toquerville Falls Road, the driver lost control causing the truck to roll one time landing on its wheels, Washington County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Crouse said. The momentum of the roll caused the driver and one of his passengers to be ejected from the pickup truck.
Washington County Sheriffs Office and Bureau of Land Management responded to the scene at 2:06 p.m. Both passengers refused medical transport, Crouse said, but the driver was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George by ambulance for an injured hand as well as other apparent minor injuries.
“We believe that alcohol was a contributing factor,” Crouse said. “The driver was cited for driving under the influence.”
This report is based on preliminary information provided by the responders and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
