“At approximately 9:35 p.m., St. George Fire Department units were dispatched to the area of 2660 East 422 North on report of a large brush fire,” St. George Fire Captain Rob Hooper said. “Upon arriving at the scene, first units initially found approximately 30-40 foot flames in some heavy brush threatening multiple structures.”
Five engines and three brush trucks responded to help extinguish the blaze.
“No property damage to any structures occurred and no injuries that we know of,” Hooper said.
It took about 15 minutes upon arrival at the scene for firefighters to secure a perimeter around the fire and approximately 30 minutes to extinguish it.
“Witnesses stated that they have seen kids in here over the last several days smoking, but as of now we have not spoken to any witnesses that directly saw the fire start,” Hooper said, “so we are looking into the cause of the fire.”
This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.

The fire was near Pineview High School not the Middle School.
Hm. Well, Bullseye – the school is mentioned to give general point of reference. The fire was at 2660 East 422 North, which is – as the crow flies – almost equidistant between Pine View High School (2850 E 750 N) and Pine View Middle School (2145 E 130 N.). And of course there are other landmarks as well.
I hope that clears it up?

It was near Pine View High School, not Pine View Middle School.
Actually, Mr. O’Neill, it’s near both. Please refer to my reply to Bullseye?

This is actually by Pine View High School, not the middle school. I live in one of those buildings where this was. Thanks to SG Fire for a fast fire extinguishing! 🙂
