Announcing St. George News ‘ANNOUNCEMENTS’ section – all new, submit your own

ST. GEORGE – As our community of St. George News friends grows and grows – we can’t mention that without opening with our genuine thanks – St. George News wants to accommodate the many life and community events that deserve announcing.

And so it is that we have added an “Announcements” section to our website, which you may find linked here or by visiting our home page and clicking on the Announcements button on the top bar – see image below:

We have set some categories to start with, and as  you submit your own announcement you are welcome to suggest new categories. Have parents celebrating their golden anniversary? We want to hear about it.  Is your church holding a special event the community is welcome to attend? Let’s hear about it.  Is your school holding a carwash to raise funds for new jerseys for one of your sports teams? This is a good place to announce it.

Whatever it is, if it is hometown and of community interest, your announcements are our announcements and we welcome them. So bring them on, follow the prompts as  you click on “Submit your own,” and let’s build this forum together.

Readers, we are crazy about you, and so we call you “friends.” At 3 1/2 years old, we are gratified to reach well over 150,000 individual users on a monthly average.

Your feedback is always welcome. As we are always making site improvements, your input is valuable in helping us address your needs and convenience as a user.  You may notice, for example, that we eliminated some redundancy between the top bar of buttons and the left margin page link buttons – several of you pointed out those were confusing.  You may notice that other categories along the top bar have now been merged under the “Lifestyle” menu – you will find events, health, nutrition, education and more features under that menu.  Our calendar page (see button on the left hand column) now allows you to submit your own calendar item.

And – as prompts this post – our all new Announcements section. We look forward to being your megaphone, we want to see what is happening in your lives and help you share those.

Because of you, we are read.

Because of you, we are able to bring you news and events and interaction that are right here, right now, in Southern Utah and its surrounding region.

So thank you, from all of us – owner, editors, reporters, photographers, web designers, sales reps, freelance contributors, and many engaged to bring support to our efforts.  Thank you St. George News friends.
