ST. GEORGE — At about 1:15 p.m. today, emergency personnel responded to a two-car accident on East Riverside Drive between the intersections of River Road and Foremaster Drive. Minor injuries were reported.

A Chevy Impala, travelling on East Riverside Drive, pulled off to the shoulder and flipped a U-turn, St. George Police Officer Jeremy Needles told St. George News at the scene. As the Impala made the turn, a blue Nissan Truck T-boned the impala, resulting in the collision.

The driver of the truck smashed his face, Needles said, but the injuries were minor. Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene but no one was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Impala was cited for an improper U-turn, Needles said.

Traffic was slowed in both directions for a short time as the two vehicles remained in the middle turning lane until they were towed from the scene.

I’ve seen this happen b4. It was further south on river rd yrs ago. I assisted the people in the accident until the ambo crew got there.
There weren’t any serious injuries then either. That day taught me that if I need to flip a u-ie to look at any possible intersections & driveways in the area plus traffic to make double/triple sure I’m clear b4 completing the u-ie.
Please let’s all be more careful out there. And check your cars lights to make sure they’re working and visible

@ Drew Allred: Props on the photos that you had to hike to get. That’s dedication to journalism right there. 🙂
