CEDAR CITY – A Cedar City man was killed in what appears to have been an industrial accident at CML Metals mines Saturday.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the CML Metals mines at 2700 South Comstock Road in Cedar city at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, where they found Mark Rowley, 56, of Cedar City entrapped in a conveyor belt.
Lifesaving measures were attempted but Rowley succumbed to his injuries on scene, Iron County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement released Monday.
“It appears at this time this was an industrial accident,” the Sheriff’s Office statement said.
Investigation into the matter is being handled by the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
