ST. GEORGE — A white Ford Explorer flew off road and smashed into a fence near Brigham Road as it turns into Swaps Drive in the Bloomington area of St. George at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The Explorer was traveling westbound on Brigham Road and lost control just as the road curves and becomes Swaps Drive. “The male driving the vehicle took the curve too fast,” St. George Police Sgt. Dave Williams said.
The passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George by Gold Cross Ambulance.
The driver walked away with no serious injuries and the Explorer had to be towed from the scene.
Speed appears to be the only contributing factor at this time and the accident is still under investigation, Williams said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.
