ST. GEORGE — A three-car rear-end collision at about 5:25 p.m. in the southbound lanes at 1850 South River Road in St. George slowed traffic to a crawl Wednesday.
A silver Saab driven by a man crashed into a black Odyssey driven by a woman that had stopped for the red light in the southbound lanes of River Road. The collision pushed the Odyssey into the rear of a Silver Suburban driven by a woman that was also stopped in traffic at the red light, St. George Police Officer Jeremy Needles said.
The accident shut down the inside lane of southbound traffic until about 6 p.m., when the accident was cleared.
St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded, however there were no injuries and the individuals involved refused to be transported, Needles said.
The Saab had extensive front-end damage and the Odyssey sustained rear-end damage, requiring both of those vehicles to be towed from the area. The Suburban did not have serious damage and was driven away.
The driver of the Saab was cited for following too close.
